BallDee’s Recovery

Nowadays, he's just incredibly mischievous, always looking for something to play with and pestering Mom and my older sister to play with him 😼. When he gets bored, he even jumps up so high to play with his little paws (the last part 😖). Luckily, he's fine 🥲😵 😼

After he recovered, he literally became the spoiled rotten one in the house. Everyone (the cats) dotes on him, and even when he's being mischievous, we just can't bring ourselves to scold him 🤣

A huge thank you to Uncle Kit for saving our BallDee 🙏🏻

I hope my case can be seen by everyone, providing more reference for diagnosis and helping you learn more about the FIP virus, so you can save a kitty's life in time 🫡

He was diagnosed when he was just over 6 months old.

His blood test results showed severe anemia (HCT 4.2%)

The X-ray showed an enlarged heart and intestines.

He received a blood transfusion that night and had a panel done. A few days later, we discovered he couldn't produce blood himself. His HCT dropped again.

We did an echocardiogram and an abdominal ultrasound to rule out structural issues.

The results showed a small amount of ascites (fluid around the heart), an enlarged spleen, and some slight lymph node swelling.

We felt completely helpless at the time, not knowing if another bone marrow test would also turn up nothing. As it happened, during the few days that BallDee was unwell, I was constantly researching online and learned about a man named Uncle Kit. With nothing to lose, I reached out to him for help. After talking it over, we decided to go see Uncle Kit for receving Bliss vial that very night.

For the few days after the first injection, the situation seemed to be going back and forth.

His nose would sometimes be pink, sometimes white, and his spirits would be up and down. Because of this, I was constantly bothering Uncle Kit, worried he was taking a turn for the worse. He completely understood how we felt as parents and told us not to worry. After that, we slowly saw him get better and better. He went from barely eating to being able to finish an entire can at one sitting.

"Ball Dee" is almost 4 months post-treatment. He even celebrated his first birthday on 12/12 🥹

Looking back at the videos and photos from when he was hospitalized is still so heartbreaking 🥲

All the doctors said the abnormalities were due to the anemia and that, at his age, this can happen. They recommended we give him another blood transfusion and then do a bone marrow biopsy to see if there's an issue with his own blood production.
